Coozies and Zines for Gaza and G.L.I.T.S!

Hello gentle newsletter subscribers,
On June 12, I premiered my new solo show DISCIPLINE at Steppenwolf Theatre’s LookOut series. There’s some debriefing and sharing I’d like to eventually offer about the work itself and some institutional matters that came up around staging it, so look out for that in the future or ask me if we see each other in person.
For now, though, I’ve got another purpose in writing. This show was the first project for which I created and sold merch to help recoup the expenses I knew would outweigh the income of ticket sales. Lo and behold, not all the merch sold! So we’re taking that loss and moving forward with an eye toward pride month and ongoing genocide.
Half of the sales will go to my friend Dalia's friend Samer's fundraiser to support and eventually evacuate his family from Gaza; details here
The other half of the sales will go to G.L.I.T.S' $1 Million Fundraiser to support trans housing and wellness; details here
If I hit $400 for both Samer and G.L.I.T.S, the rest will go to beloved Chicago community arts organization Links Hall, who are trying to raise $15k by July 15
100% of the proceeds will go to these efforts; I will not be recouping production costs, though I will ask you to throw down on shipping if we can't meet up for handoff IRL.
Like I said, the items for sale are a zine and a coozie!
The zine is a tiny baby that includes a couple poems as well as excerpts of longer writing projects on dance/artmaking culture, family, organizing, and more.

The coozie was designed to reflect themes and vibes from DISCIPLINE, but should look pretty cool and offer comfort to the hand wrapped around your seltzer or brewski regardless of whether or not you saw the show.

I am selling each for $10, plus $5 (total per order) for shipping if relevant.
As of this writing, I have raised $165 for Samer and G.L.I.T.S each. That’s extremely awesome, but I have plenty of merch left, so I hope to see that number climb!
Thanks for throwing down on these, and for everything else you do.
til next time,
Nora
