13th of September — next (and the last) meetup of the Malmö Non-Fiction Bookclub
Hi everyone,
Long time no see. I am going to move away from Malmö this autumn, so if anyone is up for one last “Currently Reading Fika”, let's meet up! The idea is the same as previously: give and get non-fiction reading tips based on the books you're reading now or have recently finished.
Last time
We talked about the following books:
- Scale: The Universal Laws of Life, Growth, and Death in Organisms, Cities, and Companies by Geoffrey West
- Factfulness by Hans Rosling
- 100 things every designer needs to know about people by Susan Weinschenk
- Hovjuvelerarens barn by Gunnar Bolin
- The Hare With Amber Eyes: A Family's Century of Art and Loss by Edmund de Waal
- Ålevangeliet by Patrik Svensson
- Where the animals go: tracking wildlife with technology in 50 maps and graphics by James Cheshire and Oliver Uberti
- Träd i Malmö by Gunnar Ericson, Patrick Bellan, Camilla Anderson
- The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate – Discoveries from a Secret World by Peter Wohlleben
- Trädgårdsdjur – myllret och mångfalden som växterna älskar by Marie Dacke, Låtta Skogh
- 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari
- The moral landscape: how science can determine human values by Sam Harris
- Something Deeply Hidden: Quantum Worlds and the Emergence of Spacetime by Sean Carroll
- The Sceptic's Guide to the Universe by Steven Novella
- The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion by Jonathan Haidt
Date and time
Sunday, 13th of September, 11:00.
The place
This is not a remote event, since I don't expect there to be more than 50 of us. We'll meet at the city library's café, Kök och Bok (Kung Oscars väg 11). You'll recognize the meetup by a stack of books on the table.
If you have questions, just reply to this email.
