What if the process matters more than the outcome?
Hi there,
The idea of creating a course for newbies and struggling freelance writers came to me years ago.
But I didn't act on it. I was full of fear.
There are so many courses. There are so many coaches. Nobody needs another one. People will think that I'm just one of those fake people online faking their results and trying to be a guru. People would hate the course. People would hate me. Nobody would by it. I don't even know how to market it...
The negative self-talk went on. I started writing the course but stopped every time. Fear. Negative self-talk. I held myself back.
Until I said it was enough. I pushed my way through all the fear and negative self-talk. And I created a course.
Sure, I truly believe it is a great course full of awesome information that can help you to create a sustainable freelance writing business. I put my heart and soul into this. I believe in every word I said. I truly believe it can transform careers and lives.
But it's more than that. I love the creation process. Every single moment of it. I'm proud of myself for fighting through negative self-talk, fear, anxiety, and nay-sayers. I'm proud that I did it my own way, the way it felt right and ethical.
So even if nobody buys it, I would be happy and proud. (Spoiler alert: People have already bought the course!! And they are loving it!)
I would be lying if the outcome wasn't important. But honestly, working on my goal and trying my best, is the best part.
What if the outcome wasn't everything?
What if trying is the goal? What if the process is the most important?
Stop giving into fear and negative self-talk. Just try. Keep trying. Keep enjoying the process. You will see results, I promise. But focusing only on the results would be a mistake. You may miss the magic.
