No Pressure in 2023
Hi There,
The new year is almost here. 2023. HOW?!
Seriously, HOW?!
I still remember when we were talking about 2000 coming up. The turn of the century. What a big deal. And now people who were born that year can legally drink in the US. Some of you may be some of these young gen z-s. Not so young anymore. The oldest gen Z are 25. HOW?!
I digress. I will save the tears for my 40th birthday. Coming up in June. Again, how?! Okay, I stop now.
So the new year is here. And every new year is full of pressure.
Set goals. Start new habits. Get on those resolutions. Change your life. And do this right away.
Life is not like that. We all know that most people forget about their resolutions within a few weeks. The gyms are empty by the end of January.
We all know that most things are a long process. There are ups and downs. There are setbacks. The road is curvy. Nothing is a quick fix, no matter how much they are trying to sell you this.
Yeap, absolutely forget about those courses that promise you an immediate 6-figures or whatever magical nonsense.
Stop giving yourself pressure to change your entire life from December 31st to January 1st.
Yes, absolutely reflect on 2022. Yes, absolutely set goals. Yes, absolutely strive to make your life better. Yes, all kinds of yes for growth. If that's what you want. If not, good for you. Sometimes we don't want to or need to grow. Sometimes we just want to maintain and relax. I think that's valid too.
But whatever you do, don't expect to change everything and meet your biggest goals now. Or yesterday.
Set mini goals. Consider the process. Accept the ups and downs. Remind yourself that it's a journey. I know, it's a freaking cliche. But it really is a journey.
And be kind to yourself.
Forget about the pressure, the hustle, the comparison. We don't need that in our world anymore. We can do it without.
Be gentle to yourself. We kind to yourself and others. Be patient. Go at your own pace. Don't give up.
I believe in you,
Kat
