#85 - See you in two weeks!

The results of last week's survey are in!

Now, you might be thinking that the subject of this email is a spoiler as to how people voted...but is it?
 

"Whenever you have something that you think is worth an update" received the most votes. 

However, upon reflection, and reading through all of the extra pieces of feedback sent through, the vast majority of the current subscribers and I need a little more structure.

Not only was "Every other week" the next most popular answer, a large proportion of the people who voted for "Weekly" and added extra comments said they wouldn't mind a lower frequency.

The plan is to keep the newsletter a similar length. Rather than a bi-weekly newsletter double the size of the weekly one, you can think of what you'll be receiving as a "best of" of what would have shown up in the two separate emails.

And if I think there's something that I just have to update y'all on, I won't hesitate to send something out, even if it's not an official newsletter week. 😌

One of our product goals is to help people source the books they find on The StoryGraph as quickly as possible.

One of the ways we've dreamt of doing that is by showing people if a book they're looking at is available at their local library.

So, you can imagine our surprise earlier this week when we discovered that Library Extension officially supports our website! 🎉
 

 

They support thousands of libraries across Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and accept requests to add in support for new ones! 😁 
 

Rob's been gearing up to start working on our upcoming Similar Books feature in earnest.

The main challenge is figuring out how to train our machine learning models on millions of books, in a timely manner, when he's only ever done it on hundreds of thousands before!
 

I am so excited to see how Elena Ferrante brings her wonderful Neapolitan Novels series to an end in The Story of the Lost Child.
