Indirectly Trending

On Friday, a particular topic was trending in the UK on Twitter...

It was trending because this article had just been published on the New Statesman website:

And since The StoryGraph was billed as the reason that "Goodreads' reign....might be coming to an end", well, we were essentially trending on Twitter too!

So, yeah, Friday was a wild day of keeping up with a sudden influx of 5000 new users. 😅

Still waiting on the day that line keeps on going up and up. 😆

I'm pleased to say that we made it through without any big issues. A great improvement from a few months ago! 💪🏾

Last week

All of my grand content warning plans got mislaid!

Our brief Twitter fame explains what distracted us at the end of last week.

But what about the beginning?

Well, remember the new, flashy recommendations page we announced?

Too many people didn't like it at all or found it really confusing, and so the first half of the week was spent analysing the feedback and deciding what to do with it.

I am sure glad we got the update in before the article came out. 😅

Don't worry, Rob. We'll find a different, better way to give people live, on-the-go, recommendations! 😂

This week

I'll be finishing off my current round of customer interviews and then synthesising all of the feedback.

I hope to share some findings in the next issue!

I plan to watch the film over the weekend since I'm reading it for Reading Women's 'Read and Watch a Book-to-Movie Adaptation' reading challenge prompt.
