#51 - Read With Us!

The StoryGraph is hosting an event via Instagram today, taking advantage of the public holiday in the UK (and Memorial Day in the States)! 🥳

It's our annual #mbhreadathon, where you aim to sit down and do some focused reading virtually alongside others all around the world!
 

There's a loose goal of 5 hours, mainly for those (like me!) that enjoy something to work towards. But whether you read for 5 minutes or 50, it's the taking part that counts. 🤓

Will you consider picking up a book for a little while to take part today? Let me know what you'll be reading!

We reached a product milestone that I'm oh so proud of! 🙌🏾

Remember the time when I would spend days onboarding a user to the beta as I needed to manually add their 400 books to the site? 😅

We've moved on a lot since then but, as of last week, after somebody signs up to the site, they're directed to this page:

And if they do upload their Goodreads file, we won't have to do anything manually. It all happens in the background, including emailing the user once their export is done! 🎉

This vastly improves the user experience compared to where users would have to remember to send me their Goodreads export attached to an email.

(It also vastly improves my life too. 😆)

 

Thank you to everyone who wrote in last week with enthusiastic and encouraging words about us pushing out the site more!

One of the things we'll be doing this week is going back to all of the articles and tweets we've been sent and reaching out to those crying out for a better website for book lovers out there. 

You'll get an update to the response next week. 😁
