#41 - A Little Better Every Day

Improving the site each day, giving you better insight into your reading stats, and looking ahead to the final Editor group call.

Better Every Day

The aim, while on our journey to product/market fit, is to make The StoryGraph (at least) a little bit better every day.

However, many things can get in the way of product development: sometimes it's other company matters and other times it's nothing to do with work at all. Life just takes centre stage.

And sometimes it's just a slow week and you don't really know why progress wasn't made.

To mitigate these things, I have an hour slot in my calendar in the morning that's dedicated to The StoryGraph's product development:

The time slot is early enough such that it's rare that I won't be able to sit down at my desk to fulfil it.

Do you have anything similar?

Is there something that you'd like to do every day but struggle to fit it in?

If possible, make it part of your early morning routine!

Last week

We finally took the stats to the next level. 😎

Now, when you spot that your friend has only read 18 relaxing books out of the 700+ that she's read...

You can click through and see which books made the cut:

And you can do the same with the pace, page number, book type, and review charts.

What's that one book you gave 2.75⭐️ to?

Oh yeah — that was it! 😏
This week

There'll hopefully be a handful of new improvements on the site including being able to spot if a book that shows up on the Community News Feed features in your reading challenges, being able to view all of the books you own on one page, and being able to view the site properly when you're accessing it on an iPhone SE. 😬😅

The week will culminate in the final group call of the Editor beta testing programme — some of the testers have been with us for 6 months. 😍

I'm looking forward to discussing the product journey so far and how the group sees the website developing going forward! 🤓
What I'm reading right now

Alongside Girl, Woman, Other, I've been dipping into this short story collection at night time:

 😈

I don't normally read two fiction books at the same time, but adding Night Shift into the mix is okay since it's a short story collection.

Are you typically reading more than one book at any given time?

Have a great week,

Nadia

P.S. If you know a friend who's an avid mood reader or would enjoy following along with this journey, please do forward this email to them! Thank you. :-)
