                In which I talk about how there's not much time until the end of my paid trial, which makes me anxious. Also — new profile and filter menu updates!

Am I running out of time?

That's how I feel.

I'm now back home after a wonderful two weeks in Japan.

However, I felt anxious a lot of the time I was there.

Should I give this talk or go back to my hotel room and work on the website? 🤔

When I started the 3-month paid trial, it felt like I had a long time to take the product to the next level and demonstrate that The StoryGraph was something worth paying for, but now it's November 18th and the end of the year is around the corner...

Even if I lose paying members, I have to remind myself that it doesn't mean the product is bad.

It just means that I haven't found the right fit yet. 😊

Last week

While it didn't feel productive, I do have three key updates for ya. So it can't have been so bad. 😁

Last week I mentioned wanting to highlight special members of the community.

And finally, gotta make sure my Editors are being looked after.

For everyone else, you can focus in on one genre:

But now paying users can enjoy customising their search a little more:

This week

Soon Editors will be able to exclude genres they're not interested in instead.

There's also a missing option out there for when a mood reader starts reading a book:

Many will regularly decide a book is not for them and stop reading it with no intention to go back.

A DNF (Did Not Finish) button is coming soon, alongside improved stats!

This week will also mark the second of my Editor group calls and I'm hopefully onboarding four new Librarians!

I'm finishing off the last of my Japanese-authored reads, and this one is, for want of a better description, 🔥 so far:
