#23 - To Add, or Not To Add

In which I ask: Should I add more features or focus on making what I've already got work and look better? Also — some before and after screenshots! 😁

To add, or to improve, that is the question...

...that I have been mulling over this past week in Japan.

For a while, I've been talking about how the site doesn't work in the way I want it to: it's not fast enough, and the user interface and experience isn't up to scratch, especially for those with disabilities.

But, I've also got a bunch of paying users on a three-month trial and I want to make sure that there's a comprehensive set of features that enhances their StoryGraph experience without me falling into the The Feature Fallacy trap.

I've reached a compromise: work on a few more features that I think rounds out what's already there and then pause to make sure that what I've got so far runs really well. 🙂

And I want everyone to know who the amazing Editors and Librarians are too.

Can anyone guess how I plan on doing that?
What I'm reading right now

I've been reading Japanese-authored books while here.

First up was the quirky, and rather sad, Convenience Store Woman, by Sayaka Murata. Check out my review to find out what I thought.

Now I'm reading one about a cafe that enables you to travel back in time. But of course, there are rules:

What's your favourite book by a Japanese writer?

Have a great week,

Nadia
