I went in optimistic, but things went downhill when the Apple Store said they were taking my Macbook away from me for the whole week and my old backup computer didn't work in the way I expected it to. 😩
...but thank you for the feedback!
However, the responses to my survey cheered me up. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts.
Since I don't have any interesting updates from the week I'm going to use some prompts from the feedback to give you an overview of where The StoryGraph is at and where it's (hopefully!) going.
What's your overall goal?
Long-term goal/dream? The number one social network for readers. 😍
Medium-term goal? The place for avid mood readers to find books and discuss them with friends. 🤓
For £10/$12? Personalise the filter menu results, 2 personal recommendations, and coming soon: saved searches and book clubs. You also get the chance to influence the site's direction. Saved searches wasn't a thing two weeks ago!
I want to volunteer! You can add and edit books on the site as a StoryGraph Librarian!
Do we need weekly updates?
Sometimes I wonder about this too!
But the newsletter, as well as being for all of you, also helps keep me accountable, which is especially important as a solo founder.
My challenge is to make sure that each weekly update is worth your while.
Sometimes I may fail at that (like this week 😂), but I'm trying hard to have made meaningful progress each time Monday comes around!
What I'm reading right now
Going to reread this as part of my #fivestarrereadalong challenge. I loved this book so much first time around and I have high hopes that it will remain a favourite!
Have a great week — I hope I do! 😅
Nadia
P.S. If you know a friend who's an avid mood reader or would enjoy following along with this journey, please do forward this email to them! Thank you. :-)
