Paying users and an employee!
While away on my wonderful retreat by the coast last weekend, I couldn't help but think of this week with some dread.
Not only would I have to catch up on tasks from the week before, my calendar was filling up with 1:1 calls with paying testers, and I still needed to deliver the first set of features that they were expecting come October 1st.
I thought to myself: maybe it's time I had a little bit of help?
And while thinking about who'd be able to jump on board quickly and effectively, I realised the answer was in front of me in the form of one of my favourite Bookstagrammers:
So I reached out and Abbie responded with an enthusiastic 'yes'! 💪🏾
For the next week or two, she'll be helping me with user book requests and improving the current website database.
I went back and forth on whether paying for help was premature at this stage of the business, but trying this out will give me the headspace to think about long-term strategy, and will give both Abbie and myself a chance to see if this arrangement makes sense.
After all, the subscription money I'm going to receive will fund this help, so I'm re-investing revenue in order to improve the user experience.
That's good business practice, right? 😁
