            #13 - A Revelation and A Surprise

                In which I talk about the revelation I had last week and, as a result, I share a surprise I have for you this week.

The Revelation

Here's what I know:

Onboarding people is taking a painfully long time, which means...
...the rate at which I'm getting feedback is incredibly slow.
I'm concerned about not failing fast enough or losing momentum.

I also know:

My beta testers got value from the filter menu within the first minute of trying out the app.
Many of them added new books to their TBR, or even bought books, after discovering them on The StoryGraph beta site.

And that's when it hit me:

Why can't all of you have that same experience right now?

This way I'll get more feedback sooner and so will be able to figure out more quickly if this is going somewhere or not. 

And if it is, I can iterate towards whatever success looks like faster.

And so I present to you...

The Surprise

Last week

The first half of the week I spent onboarding a couple more testers and re-thinking everything as per 'The Revelation'.

The latter half of the week consisted of me getting the site ready for 'The Surprise'.  😁

This week

Just because the site is open, staying close to key customers and iterating based on their feedback doesn't stop.

Therefore, alongside working through the backlog of things I still need to do, especially now the beta is public, I'll be conducting interviews with Cohort 2 testers.

What I'm reading right now 

A handful of pages in, I'm getting those vibes that says this book is going to be a favourite. But it's early days so I'll calm down...
