big fan of the sky here

hello again!! thanks to everyone who sent me their vegetal deets <3 in case you were curious, i am a pumpkin!! also i made a cute lil chart of the makeup my friends’/family’s vegetal leanings bc #womeninstem

interesante, no?

i kind of loved all the responses and charting (verb for making a chart), so i made my own quiz for this newsletter:

take it here!

since I last checked in, here are some fun lil upd8s!

  • I went to a spanish indie rock concert!

one of my friends here is dating someone who is in a band and they’re low key rock stars. i went to the concert expecting to .. support my friend’s bf .. but there were FANS there!! actual fans who knew the words to their songs?? it was a cool venue and a cool vibe!

for other spanish indie music recs click here
  • I went to the office!

the spanish cohort of my company works from a we work that’s a 20 minute walk from my apartment here so i went in and hung with coworkers that i know and met some new folks too! we went to a conveyer belt sushi restaurant that had dorito sushi. it was honestly pretty good - next time you go to nobu, highly recommend DIYing this dish and bringing your own doritos ;)

p.s. doritos here do not have msg & u can taste it :(
  • I made friends!!

“made friends” equals cornering girls in my spanish class after class and starting a group chat and making them get drinks / coffee / thrift shop / hang with me :) “made friends” also equals DMing strangers on fb/whatsapp groups and playing tennis with them :) (i have no pics of these friendships - you’ll have to take my word for it) also fun to hear ‘ay caramba’ while playing tennis - might bring that one back to the states with me

  • I went to a yoga class en español!!

not as hard as i thought it would be - the cuerpo and directions vocab units from middle school really payed off here

  • My mom came to visit!!

<3 <3 i finally did all the touristy things while my mom was here and it was so fun showing her around !! we explored the city center, did a food walking tour, went on a day trip to Toledo, ate bagels, went to the manchego cheese museum, went to the botanic gardens and the reina sofia museum, did plenty of walking around retiro park, and obviously ate churrrros

deeeeeelish

here are some bonus photos because i promised i’d take more fotos while here (and some of these, i’ll let you guess which ones, inspired the subject line of this newsletter)
