🎆 Athena Crisis Summer Update
Hello there!
We are hard at work on the full release later this year. If you are still on the fence, Athena Crisis is currently 20% off on Steam! Here are the recent highlights:
New Content
We shipped the first act of the main campaign within the Prequel Campaign. Watch out for a certain someone stranded at the shores on one map to unlock the secrets of the Athena Crisis multiverse.

Local Mode
Athena Crisis has received fantastic reviews so far, and the fanbase around the game is growing. However, all the negative reviews we received was about not being able to play offline. We fixed that, and you can now enjoy single-player Athena Crisis maps and campaigns offline without syncing your save state to other devices.
Optional Objectives & Scripting
Athena Crisis has supported a scripting engine for a while, but most of its features haven’t been exposed in the UI. We recently shipped the “Spawn Effect” which allows map designers to spawn new units based on a trigger. Together with optional objectives you can set up exciting interactions like spawning more opponents mid-game, or spawning more friendly units after achieving an objective. Check out this tweet for an overview.

Open Source
Folks following the development of Athena Crisis might have heard already that Athena Crisis was open sourced! The core of the game, about 100,000 lines of code, is now open source. People can contribute to the game or build their own turn-based games using the codebase. Some new features like the symmetrical drawing mode in the Map Editor or optional objectives were contributed through open source.

What's Next?
We are polishing the game as much as possible while finishing up the final campaign maps. Players can now customize their character names and unlock portraits, and we’ll be doubling down on customization, unlockables and a few more major features.
If you haven't tried Athena Crisis yet, you can play one map instantly on athenacrisis.com. If you enjoy the game and wish to support its development, please consider buying Athena Crisis directly.
