🎆 Athena Crisis Spring Update
Athena Crisis is now launched on all of our target platforms. Check out Athena Crisis on App Store, Play Store, or Steam.
The mobile launch went smoothly. There were no major issues or bugs, and players could finally enjoy Athena Crisis across many platforms with only one purchase!
It felt incredibly rewarding to build a video game completely from scratch, handle development end-to-end, and ship it to so many platforms. We hope you enjoy playing Athena Crisis!
What’s New?

The new campaign “Waking the Colossus” by player iudiciis was promoted into Curated Campaigns. The maps are well designed, allow you to earn extra stars and you unlock a new unique skill at the end. It’s been awesome to see so many content creators expand on the lore of the main story and its characters, and there are still more campaigns coming!
We also implemented many requested features, like previewing the next campaign map and the ability to replay campaign maps at any time.
Invasions and skills were further improved and balanced. Some gameplay issues that stuck around for a while were also fixed, like the AI’s behavior in the Space biome, or how the Space biome handles entering and leaving a space ship.
Finally, we made numerous improvements behind the scenes to ensure the Athena Crisis tech stack stays modern, bug-free, fast and maintainable for the long-term. Since Athena Crisis is open source, we want to keep the codebase current so that developers can study how the game is made and build their own modern JavaScript-based games.
What’s Next?
We are making various plans for the future and are going back to the (literal) drawing board. There are still tons of unexplored ideas for Athena Crisis across the technology stack, game design, art and more. We don’t have much to share yet, so I’ll leave you with a cute new larger version of Arvid, the Saboteur:
