Exclusive cocktail preview, a new show announcement

Hello and welcome to a bonus mini-newsletter! I have an RSVP link for the Open Studios cocktail preview that I mentioned in the last email, and three new paintings were just accepted into an upcoming show at Madrone Art Bar. I also have a discount code for this Sunday’s CROONERS for you! Don’t worry, I’ll still give you a photo of my cat, Ruby at the end of this one, too.

I’m all set up for next weekend’s Open Studios and excited to see you all and get to share my work with you; new and old, polished work and full sketchbooks. I’ve set aside a couple of bins of discounted original works for as low as $50!

I’m showing with Suze Riley in her studio at 1942 Divisadero for the weekend of October 4-5, 11am-5pm. We will also be joined by Lauren Crasco.

We will have a preview on the preceding Thursday, October 2, from 7-9pm, with a menu of custom cocktails & mocktails created by my partner, Sean Owens. Please RSVP here to attend so that we know how many people to expect!

No worries if you can’t make it on Thursday night, we will be there all weekend from 11am-5pm. If you are looking for an fun way to explore Open Studios with a group, ArtSpan’s board chair (and collector extraordinaire) Michelle Cooke is hosting a walking and transit tour for weekend three! You can find details and RSVP for the tour here.

I just received my acceptance to the next exhibit at Madrone Art Bar— Meet Me For a Drink, curated by KnownSF.

You may have noticed my growing interest in neon signs and nocturnes, and I have three new pieces in this show exploring colorful lights and good bars.

500 Club, 14”x11”, acrylic on canvas

Doc’s Clock Arrow and Glass, 9”x12”, acrylic on canvas

Stonewall Glasses, 12”x12”, acrylic on panel

These paintings are an exploration into an entirely different subject matter and process for me, and I am excited to show them and to explore further! The opening event for this show is Sunday, October 5 from 2-7. I’ll still be at Open Studios until 5, so come and see me and then celebrate with us down at Madrone! Both locations are right on Divisadero, so it’s a quick ride on the 24 between the two.

This Sunday: “CROONERS Teaches you a Lesson!”— Lyrical Life Lessons and the Songs That Schooled Us. Use discount code “HARDLESSON20” for 20% off the 9pm show!

Thanks for reading my newsletter! As a reward, here is a picture of Ruby, being extremely long.

While you await the next newsletter, you can check out my website to see my portfolio of plein air paintings, still lifes, block prints, figure drawings, tiny model houses, murals, and you can also find information on commissions! Please feel welcome to email me (just respond here!) and ask about any ideas you have that aren’t covered on my commission page, I’m always willing to discuss.

Stay tuned for next month, and let me know what you’d like to hear about in the newsletter in the future.
