Weddings, readings, and panels (oh my)
Hello and happy spring, friends! May and June are shaping up to be busy for me, so here’s a quick rundown of where you can find me over the next couple weeks.
First off: you will NOT find me anywhere until after May 15th. That’s because I’m getting MARRIED ON ZOOM to my beloved, Nibedita Sen, in the telepresence of many friends and family members and also our cat. I am including one (1) photo of our engagement/pre-wedding shoot for posterity, and so we can all scream about how amazing Nibs looks.
I lied: here are our shoes. Our shoes are so great. Yes, I special ordered these Converses. Yes, I am afraid to wear them anywhere else.
Both photos by Debbie-jean Lemonte of DAGIMAGES.
Events for May and June
Most of these events require pre-registration at the links. Nearly all of them are free or by donation, but please support the indie bookstores sponsoring them by ordering through them.
- May 20: In conversation with Premee Mohammed (who has FOUR new books this year!!) at an online event hosted by The Raven Bookstore
- May 24: TDA’s Read the Room series with Marina Lostetter, P. Djèlí Clark, Mirah Bolender, and Jenny Lyons. Tickets are here!
- May 28: In conversation (about HORROR!) with good friend Jason Baltazar, hosted by Argo Books.
- May 29-30: I will be doing two panels at Balticon (about psychological horror and stepping out of one’s genre comfort zone) and a reading. Times and panel descriptions are here:
- June 5-7: Nebula Conference! I’ll be on two panels: “Interrogating scare tactics” about horror, and “Assembling a short story collection,” which is exactly what it says on the tin.
- June 23, I will be hosting a 90-minute workshop about worldbuilding for the Manhattanville Summer Writing Week, as well as doing a reading. Registration is open for the full weeklong series.
I think that’s everything? I feel like I could be forgiven if I forgot something. If so moved, please join me at one or more of these events! I was too tired/busy/depressed to do many events last year, so I’m really looking forward to talking to writers and creative people again.
As always, if you want to support my work, you can do so on Patreon and by buying my books.
