Poetry Foundation’s executive is associated with Navy Pier in a past role which is a landmark from my childhood where their {former} patron Yev Gelman’s parent installed a “Ship of Tolerance” in 2019 but when I visited during a walk there it said high schoolers were no longer permitted without an older person attending, alarming me for that policy enables abuse, but she denies a role. An alderman from Poetry’s neighboring district has been rallying to implement that citywide after dark; the Mayor’s Office has replied to my request for comment.
