Yet Another Newsletter LOL: Thing
Another week, another newsletter. Let’s get to it!
Around the Web
- It’s getting close to the end of the year. If you have an education stipend at work, use it! Josh W. Comeau has a great thread on where to use that stipend including his own course which is amazing btw!
So, 2022 is almost over, which means your professional development stipend is about to expire! ⏰

If you work at a company that has this perk, I’ve collected some suggestions in this thread! Books and courses I’ve been impressed with, or excited by.
- If you use GitHub Copilot, which I’be been finding super useful, they have a labs project. One of the projects to come out of their recently is the Code brushes. Words of Wisdom for the Week
Whenever you take on a new role at a new company, if there is an alum Slack or some alum community from your previous job, join it. I’m currently in four, and they are a great resource and a great way to stay connected with old colleagues.
Shameless Plugs
I gave a talk this past week at the Chicago JS Meetup about Fresh, a new full-stack web framework for Deno. Here’s the slide deck and the demo site source code.
