Yet Another Newsletter LOL: The Narrows
Another week, another newsletter. Let's get to it!
Around the Web
- Josh Goldberg is back with another great TypeScript post, Narrowing Function Parameters With Rests And Tuples.
- Here are a couple of great talks about React that are definitely worth watching:
- Sam Selikoff's Next.js Conf 2023 talk, How Next.js is delivering React’s vision for the future
- Mark Dalgeish's talk from React Advanced 2023, Simplifying Server Components
- When I worked at Netlify, I built out the Netlify Remix adapters. Remix is now at v2 and my old co-worker Matt Kane has updated the Remix adapters to support Remix 2.2 on Netlify for serverless and edge. Check out Remix v2.2 on Netlify. Great work Matt!
- Lea Verou has a great blog post out, Minimalist Affordances: Making the right tradeoffs that was inspired by GitHub's new comment UI. Definitely worth a read.
Fun Stuff
The bytes.dev newsletter is really great, and the images in the newsletter always make me giggle. This latest one about the Remix framework adopting vite though... 💀
Shameless Plugs
Monday, I got to hang with Todd Libby, a senior accessibility engineer. We went a11y bug hunting and chatted about accessibility. It was a great conversation. The recording will be dropping on YouTube next week. For now, here's a highlight.
Twitch
Twitch is the world's leading video platform and community for gamers.
My latest blog post for OpenSauced is out! GitHub Actions: A Maintainer's Best Friend
Tomorrow on Twitch, I'll be flying solo. Come hang at 4 pm UTC (time change this weekend 😅) as I build out nickyt.live!
Jobs
- Netflix is looking to hire a Senior Automation UI Engineer – Remote US
- Checkly is looking for a Senior Developer Relations Advocate
I post jobs in the iamdeveloper.com community, plus all other kinds of content, as do others. If you're looking for another friendly nook of the internet, head to discord.iamdeveloper.com.
That's a wrap! Until the next one.
