Hello from quarantine
I'm in quarantine. I wish it was properly boring, but alas, with the slew of new regulations in Singapore that has hit me since we arrived, it has been anything but.
That's me giving a presentation for work on my homemade standing desk that overlooks the Singapore skyline. It's Instagram worthy stuff that isn't on Instagram (this is exclusive stuff on the newsletter!), but I'm paying SGD $5,000 for this mandatory 21-day luxury jail sentence. Go figure.
Anyway, I'm not emailing you to whine. I'd just like to wave at you to say "hello" again since it's been months since the last time I wrote to you all. So, hello! 👋
I've published 18 blog posts since that last email 3 months ago (wow) and here are the top 3 that I feel are most worth sharing:
- The only reason you need to keep a blog
- My biggest fear
- Obsidian? Roam? Why I am staying with Bear as my PKM
One other thing worth sharing -- I've been inspired by Jack Conte's work recently, especially this video where he mashed up a recording of a talk he gave with some real-time narration about being a creative person. He's a creator in the full sense of the word: musician, filmmaker, and CEO of Patreon, a company that is all about funding the creative class, so it's coming from a place I trust.
Anyway, that's it. Have a great day!
Nick
