Seasons greetings from Animikii's News River

Boozhoo News River readers,
Season’s greetings from the entire Animikii family! We are finishing off the year with this edition of the News River as our operations will pause between the dates of December 25th and January 1st. This week, we feature the release of a new book from the Tierra Común Network called Resisting Data Colonialism, digital mapping on Frog Lake First Nation, and an Indigenous history resource site from the Ngarrngga Project at the University of Melbourne.
From the LinkedIn world: Te Hapori Matihiko shares te reo Maori digital technology terms to use in the workplace - and wouldn't it be interesting to see this for any of the 70+ Indigenous languages in Canada?
We are also closing in on the Winter Solstice, when we celebrate the beginning of longer days. Enjoy the above graphic prepared by our Lead Designer Tom Spetter.
Ensuring Equity in AI Panel at Elevate
Earlier this year our CEO Jeff Ward shared the stage with Sarah Saska of Feminuity and Cat Miller of Flatiron Health for a panel on "Ensuring Equity in AI." at Elevate Technology Conference. They explored the complexities of bias in AI algorithms and discussed strategies for creating fair and equitable AI systems.
This conversation is a great primer on the rapidly evolving technology. Learn from their insights by accessing the full panel discussion at the link below.
