Repatriating archaeological research

This week in Indigenous technology news, digitally-captured knowledge from a significant Dane-zaa cultural site is in the process of being repatriated. This is just one of the many ways technology is aiding the preservation and repatriation of cultural artifacts, like the Smithsonian Institution’s recent work with the Haida Nation. 

South of the imaginary line, a co-op of Oneida Nation families are growing their traditional white corn after research into cover crops (a method with traditional Indigenous roots).

Ingenium Innovation Challenge: Deadline Extended The deadline for the Ingenium Innovation Challenge has been extended, and modified to allow a written OR video submission.

This 72-hour event from May 3-5 will challenge participants to create a digital product that will educate and inspire Canadian youth on the topic of clean water and sanitation. This year, young adults aged 18-35 can register to participate in-person at the Ingenium Centre in Ottawa or online.
