Reconciliation and Tech with TechSoup

Boozhoo News River readers,
In this week’s newsletter, we partner with TechSoup to push forward the conversation around reconciliation, technology, and accountability.
And in Indigenous Data Sovereignty news, check out this LinkedIn post from Dr. Karaitiana Taiuru, a Māori AI and Data Ethics researcher on one way to protect your site content from being consumed by Chat GPT – which is especially important when your site contains sensitive cultural content.
We liked this method so much that we updated our core CMS in less than 24 hours to include these protective measures.
Reconciliation and Tech: A Partnership with TechSoup
We recently started a collaboration with TechSoup Canada to deepen and energize the conversation of reconciliation in Canada – specifically in the field of technology.
TechSoup connects nonprofit organizations with tech resources, knowledge, and community, and is currently partnered with 70 NGOs around the world.
Keep an eye out for weekly articles like our first one below on Reconciliation & Tech: Nurturing Respectful Relationships with Indigenous Communities.
And we aren’t stopping there. We will be hosting a webinar on September 28 to share this partnership with the world. Stand by for more information about this event.
