New startup joins Raven Capital ranks

Last week saw the announcement of $2M (CAD) in pre-seed funding led by Raven Indigenous Capital Partners for Artemis, a Vancouver-based Indigenous-led startup. Artemis aims to automate data cleaning for analytics and AI with a platform that is currently in beta with over 20 organizations as clients. Read the full story on the BetaKit website. In other Indigenous tech news, an ambitious virtual health hub based on the Whitecap Dakota First Nation will offer virtual care for remote and rural communities in Saskatchewan. The $27M hub will see construction begin this fall, with completion by 2026. The 2024 Indigenous Partnerships Success Showcase will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre from June 5-6, and will feature a seminar entitled “Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Digital Equity: Ongoing Lessons from the Adoption of AI Technologies.” Learn more about attending the event here.
Animikii On The Road The Animikii team is looking forward to attending the Indigenous History and Heritage Gathering (IHHG) next week in Ottawa. This gathering is one of the many important events held during Indigenous History Month, bringing together diverse groups who are working to amplify the distinct stories of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island.
