Applications for the MIT Solve Indigenous Communities Fellowship have opened. Here’s what you need to know. What it is: A program for Indigenous innovators supporting community-based solutions in the USA and Canada. All teams selected for the fellowship receive a $10,000 grant, and a chance to win other prizes. What it looks like: Past solutions have included an online coding and digital art skills platform, tech career empowerment, and more. Witness Blanket Presentation and Display - West Vancouver

The West Vancouver Memorial Library hosts a Tech Talk with Witness Blanket artist Carey Newman tomorrow, on February 8.  This event is available virtually for educators and students Grades 4+, and in-person. Can’t make it tomorrow? The Library hosts the Witness Blanket exhibit from January 26 - Mar 10.  Animikii worked with Carey, alongside Telus and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights to build a digital version of the Witness Blanket project in 2022.

TECHNATION Zgaabii Indigenous Networking Series for Students and Recent Grads - Vancouver

Catch Animikii CEO Jeff Ward along with other Indigenous tech leaders at Microsoft's Vancouver Office on February 16 for Tech Futures: Empowering Indigenous Leaders of Tomorrow.

This event will feature interactive panels, a mini career fair, and a chance to engage with tip Indigenous CEOs, venture capitalists, and industry leaders.
