Indigenous Tech News: Cultural Preservation UVic's $8M lab, saving the Ngalia language and CIRA's $1M community grants

Boozhoo News River readers,
This week’s stories include:
We're excited to return to RES 2025 in Las Vegas for our third year!
If you're RES 2025 attending next week in Las Vegas catch our CEO Jeff Ward speaking on the "Indigenous Data Sovereignty and AI" panel on Monday, March 10 (1:00-1:50pm in Milano Ballroom I-II). This session is part of the Technology, Data Sovereignty and Innovation track where Jeff will join Shani Gwin (CEO of Pipikwan Pehtakwan) in exploring the intersection of Indigenous data rights and AI development.
We invite all attendees to visit our booth #426 on the exhibition floor to learn more about our work, connect with our team, and discuss how Indigenous-led technology solutions are transforming communities. Come by and see how we've grown since our first RES appearance!
We’re grateful to have our headquarters on traditional territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lkwungen, Songhees and Esquimalt) Peoples of the Coast Salish Nation.
