Boozhoo News River readers,

This week, one of our Animikii team members was featured in both an article and on the radio with CBC’s Unreserved about Indigenous Data Sovereignty.

In other news, a Cree scholar is developing computer coding using nehiyawewin, the Plains Cree language, and a 69-year-old TikToker shares Dakota language and teachings using the platform.

Finally, a series from Nasdaq’s news blog interviews Natives Rising CEO Danielle Forward about empowering Indigenous people through tech and entrepreneurship, and Oglála Lakȟóta composer and filmmaker Suzanne Kite explores truth and technology in her latest work.

Ingenium Innovation Challenge: Applications Open Our team was thrilled to hear Operations Manager Samantha Tweet share her thoughts on the implementation of Indigenous Data Sovereignty for CBC’s Unreserved with Rosanna Deerchild. Samantha was featured  explaining Animikii’s recent work with Survivor’s Secretariat, an organization that seeks to uncover, document, and share the truth of the Mohawk Institute, a residential school in Ontario which operated for over 140 years.
