3-D printed snow goggles: traditional function meets new technology

This week in Indigenous tech news, an Inuvialuk/Gwich’in designer brings 3-D printed snow goggles to the Indigenous Fashion Arts Festival, and the Ulkatcho First Nation in Northern B.C. plans to save 1.1 million litres of diesel a year with a proposed off-grid solar farm.
On the language revitalization front, the UNESCO Missing Scripts program seeks to encode and develop input models and fonts for minority and Indigenous writing systems. This work is part of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032).
Jeff Ward Appointed To Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Animikii CEO Jeff Ward will serve a three year term with the GPAI, with his initial work as a part of the Experts Working Group on Responsible AI. GPAI is based on principles from the OECD - OCDE Recommendation on Artificial Intelligence, gathering experts from various fields like science, business, non-profits, governments, global groups, and academia to foster international cooperation in the field of AI.
