S2 Opener for CANNED
It's Official: S2 of CANNED is Live!
It’s our birthday! We’ve been making CANNED for a year now. And the season opener for CANNED is live.

Amy and Pam ask the important questions like... How do you fuck up being a mermaid?
Amy and I talk about what we’ve learned, how making CANNED has affected us, and what we’d like to see in Season Two. I’m always psyched when Amy turns her mic on; she brings the insight of distance, something I don’t always have in the midst of these intense conversations.
I am so excited about what’s in the queue. We’ve got:
Senior tech support who has had it up to here with companies intentionally making things harder.
Culture consultant with some choice things to say about how that performance improvement plan has nothing to do with improving your performance.
Project manager who had his entire division axed by Elon’s Department of Government Evisceration.
Career coach who helps you define why you’re awesome — and why you have to own that in this stupid job market.
And there’s more to come. We were guests on the Talking Sh!t About podcast and we’ll be on Mental Wealth in a few weeks. We love a good guest appearance and folks are so enthusiastic about CANNED.
It remains a delightful irony to come out of each conversation feeling so, well, invigorated. Employment is fucked up, y’all. We devote so much time to it because what are the alternatives? But as workers, it’s way too easy to hang us out to dry.
If CANNED does anything at all, it at gives folks a place to acknowledge that, to say the quiet part about work out loud.
SUMMER PLEDGE DRIVE
CANNED is low budget and scrappy but it’s not free to make. We use four paid services:
Website hosting on HostGator 43.19/year
Podbean podcast hosting and distribution: 119.18/year
Zoom pro meet and record platform: 159.90/year
Calendly scheduling: 132.42/year
I’m looking at switching us to Riverside at 288.00/year per seat because it has built-in tools that could speed production.
If you’d like to support S2* and have a few bucks to throw in the production fund, we’d be so grateful.
*If you supported S1, don’t even. Step away from the Venmo, I mean it. You launched us. Sit down.
If we go over, I’ll be back to ask for your address to send you stickers with our logo. You can sticker bomb the bus or dive bar or bike rack or HR office.
You can help us without spending a dime:
Share CANNED with folks who you think will find it meaningful.
Send us your fired friends.
Seriously, financial support is great, but getting the word out and/or connecting us with people who have great stories is huge. It really matters.
These are messy times. I hope you’re embracing dark humor and making weird and wonderful things out of it, as best you can, in whatever way works for you.
This sucks and we deserve better.
