Elvis Speaks
An interview with our Elvis

Once again, Leah Jones of Finding Favorites talks with one of the brilliant people who worked with us on Elvis of the Yukon. This time it’s Chuck Gay, the actor who played our Elvis impersonator. Chuck talks about lots of things — his love for Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, how the pandemic affected his music career, and yeah, the work he did in our film.
Listen to Finding Favorites here.
When we auditioned for the part, Chuck was the only one looked into the backstory of the character. He’s the only guy who said, “This guy is… real! He … thinks he’s Elvis, he really does.” I was thrilled. So many people have asked me if this story is true, but Chuck knew when he walked into the audition.
Chuck and I are attending the awards ceremony for the Seattle Film Festival where I’m nominated for a best screenplay award. It’s this Sunday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. It’s open to the public and hey, if you’re not doing anything this Sunday (June 30, 2024), maybe you’d like to join us. We’ll be sitting in the stands with our fingers crossed and cheering on all the indie filmmakers who win.
Tickets are on sale here.
Let me know if you’re coming — I’ll look for you. Here’s some Buck Owens for the walkoff.
