Harry Houdini Collection

Join us for a presentation on the Harry Houdini Collection at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin.  Dr. Eric Colleary will present a talk describing the history of the Houdini collection, how the University came to possess the collection and some of the highlights of the collection.  

Additionally, as time permits, Eric will speak about the Center’s work to restore, preserve, and archive items in the collection.  

Our speaker is Dr. Eric Colleary, the Cline Curator of Theatre & Performing Arts at the Harry Ransom Center, an international humanities research library, archive, and museum. He holds a Ph.D. in Theatre Historiography from the University of Minnesota.

His research has focused on the relationship between performance, history and sexual identity and the ways that archives construct and perform identities over time.
