New Officers and Board Members Wanted

Dear NEMCA Members

Belated welcome to a new year and best wishes for the coming year. We will hopefully see a healthier and more peaceful one in 2021.

More Elections? 

In odd numbered years NEMCA holds our biennial election using the following process: We poll the current officers to ascertain those who wish to run again for their positions or move on.

When a President leaves office due to term limitations, as in my case, or resignation, the 1^st or  2^nd  Vice President moves up to run for President.

This year the 1^st Vice President chose to not become president due to career demands.

Thus Jim Zoldak, 2^nd Vice president, will move up to run for President leaving the 1^st and 2^ndVice President positions open.

Next, we solicit nominations for the vacant officer positions. All officers are to serve for a 2-year term. Their duties are described in the NEMCA By-laws at NEMCA.com under Board documents.  

(I am not eligible for another term as President as I have completed the allowed 2 consecutive terms. I will, however, be a member of the Board as the most recent past president for a current total of eight board positions.)

Open officer positions are:

- President: Jim Zoldak, candidate

- First vice president, no candidate as of yet

- Second vice president, no candidate as of yet

- Treasurer: Steve Lerner, candidate

- Secretary: Scott Martell, candidate

- Business Manager: Scott Martell, candidate

- Program Coordinator: no candidate as of yet 

(identifies and contacts presenters for the spring and fall General NEMCA meetings to be held on Zoom until further notice)  

In addition this year we will elect four additional board members (no candidates as yet ) to expand governing body membership to twelve including more from outside New England.

The role of a board member is to attend several board meetings during the year to conduct the organization’s business and to participate with other members in helping to organize the Biennial Yankee Gathering.  

To qualify as a candidate for any of the positions you must have been a NEMCA member for one year. If you would like to run, please click the button below, or submit your name and position/office of interest to the Nomination Committee by emailing [email protected] by February 15, 2021.

Run for NEMCA Board

The Nominating Committee will then provide a ballot of vetted board candidates to the Board and the members by the end of February for their consideration and vote before the March General NEMCA meeting.
