Reminder: Action Needed

This week there are 2 critical county meetings with agenda items related to border wall construction in the Big Bend Sector.

Wednesday April 8th @ 10AM - Presidio County Courthouse
Thursday April 9th @ 10AM - Jeff Davis County Courthouse

PRESIDIO COUNTY:
The Presidio County Commissioners Court will meet Wednesday, April 8th @ 10AM to discuss two agenda items, #15 & #16, related to border wall contractor work on county roads.

Attend in-person to share your 5-minute public comments on “the procedures and requirements for permitting special road use of county roads” (#15) and “discussion with action to approve the use/modification/reconstruction by Federal Contractors on Presidio County Roads” (#16).

Come with your statement prepared to share concerns on the maintenance of our county infrastructure by federally-awarded contractors, the county’s contractor permitting process, and related impacts to the county. Please remember to keep public comments respectful of the court, fact-based, and specific to the agenda item topic. The county expects border wall construction representatives will be in attendance to inform the county of their plans.

JEFF DAVIS COUNTY:

The Jeff Davis County Commissioners Court will hold a special meeting Thursday, April 9th at 10AM to discuss one item, #26.4.004, related to border wall construction.

Attend in person to share your 3-minute comment on the “discussion and action to approve a gift from Barnard Construction to reconstruct Chispa road from FM2017 to the Jeff Davis County and Presidio County Line” (#26.4.004).

Come with your statements prepared to share concerns about the county receiving gifts from federally-awarded contractors building the border wall and related impacts to the county. Please remember to keep public comments respectful of the court, fact-based, and specific to the agenda item topic.
