Quran Summaries + Arabic Grammar
As salamu alaykum my dear brothers and sisters,
This is your brother Naved, returning to your inbox with this month’s updates about Islamic Apps & Articles:
Articles
As part of the series “Welcome to Arabic,” we have already explored Writing, Calligraphy, Spelling and Pronunciation with new eyes. This month, we explore 🦴 Arabic Grammar: the core rules of language.
In grammar, It’s not good enough to look at how a language does things and say “that’s just how it is.” We look for meaning and insights everywhere, especially in Arabic!
Next month, we will explore Arabic Vocabulary. And if possible, we will reflect on another story about one of the great scholars of Islam, insha Allah.
Apps
Work for a new and improved Qawl: Desktop Quran Reader is underway! It’s being completely re-built from scratch with newer technologies 😉.
Work on Qawl was delayed a bit because I’ve also been finishing work on a longer-term project: Mubeen – Quran Summaries in English. It is being written by a wonderful brother from England.
We are almost done and a test version is ready. 📽 You can watch a short demo video here. We need a scholar to approve the writing and then we can release the app, insha Allah.
For next month, Qawl is the focus.
And as usual, my inbox is open to any ideas, comments and feedback—just press reply!
Allah, keep us safe, and help us to do excellently what we are called to do 🤲🏽
