Constructing Arabic Words
This month we explore how to 🗃️ Create Our Own Words in Arabic. There's an amazing system for this which let's us understand new words or discover them easily.
Also, there are some important corrections to existing stories on the website:
- The Unwilling Marriage: This story is popularly considered to be about the parents of Imam Abu Hanifa, Allah have mercy upon them. Even the book Gems & Jewels published by Darussalam printed this. But this story has no original source, and so it's not right to say who the people in the story are.
- Debating an Atheist: This story is also said to be about Imam Abu Hanifa. This story has been narrated by major scholars as well. But they narrate this story as a "casual story" and there is no original source for this story. So again, it's better to mention this story without the name.
I'm very sorry for these mistakes, though they come from sources I cited. Only recently I learned that these were not accurate references. InshaAllah, I will be much more careful about what I cite from now on.
So alhamdulillah the stories have been corrected on the website, and I can inform you all directly by email. That is one of the main aims of having this monthly email 💖.
Translating Layl + Mubeen
There was a lot of progress in programming this month, alhamdulillah.
- Layl, the tahajjud and night worship calculator: I am testing how to translate and add more languages to the app / website. There is a testing version of Layl at this address, and your feedback would is needed! Right now there is Arabic & English, but even testing the English version is very helpful. More languages like Bengali, Turkish, Urdu and more are planned!
- Mubeen, the app for Quran summaries in English, is getting closer to release! More updates next month with Allah's Mercy.
