Livestream — New build

Gardens for new build houses are too often an afterthought. I’ll look at designs & costs of alternative wildlife forest gardens full of edible crops.

Forest Garden Livestream

Wednesday 30th June, 10am BST

New build forest garden

Gardens and landscaping in a new build project are often simply tagged on to the end of the process without much thought or design thinking.

This is understandandable insofar as money and time are the drivers in much of housing development. It is also a missed opportunity, because the costs for a forest garden aren’t much more than a “traditional garden”.

There are also key forest garden and wildlife design features that could easily be incorporated into most new build projects.

Following the livestream at 10.30am, there is a Zoom seminar to which everyone is welcome.

Last week’s livestream: politics of Forest Gardening

The video is up on my Nature Works YouTube channel.

Star of Bethlehem

I spotted these amazing white flowers in a wooded area near the river, on the edge of town. According to Harrap’s Wild Flowers, they were introduced by 1548 and first spotted in the wild in 1650.
