Screen Shake and Adorable Abominations
Hey Folks,
We're still recovering from the beginning-of-semester bugs here. So far I've managed to avoid getting it, but that may not last for much longer... 😬
Things I Made
I made a demo this week attempting to create a screen-shake effect on shape collision. I've been watching Masahiro Sakurai's series on creating games and wanted to see if I could recreate that effect. The screen shake part turned out easy, but it was much harder to compute the intersection of the collision and draw a hit marks... maybe another day!
Thinking Too Hard
I did a thing. I mass imported someone elses OPML file full of personal websites into my Feedly subscriptions. And man... now do I have a lot of reading to do! 😅 Eventually I'd like to see if I can publish a list of personal sites worth following, but step 1 is going to have to be organizing everything!
Interesting Web Bits
- Bun 1.0 is out now.
- A React drag-n-drop page editor, named Puck was released. I can't NOT see Gutenberg and ACF in it tho...
- js13k 2023 concluded this week with 163 entries. Some of these are really neat!
- But where do your files LIVE in a git repository?
- CSS Subgrid is finally here via Chrome 117...! So how do we use it again...? 😅
- These AI Generated Emojis are pretty fun. Who knew I needed cute emoji versions of Lovecraftian monsters in my life...? ! Just look at these little guys:
