No Snow and the Weird Internet
Hey folks,
They said it would snow, but all we have is cold rain in NC. Hope you all are all safe and bundled warm if it ACTUALLY snowed where you are!
Thinking Too Hard
It's been neat to see more conversation around the re-emergence of the 'weird internet' along with where have all the websites gone? — to which the answer is they never left, we just stopped looking. Last year I wrote about sliding out the social web and trying to rediscover owning my own voice again and I really hope to see more and more weird bleeding back into the internet.
And now, some entries from the ꅏꍟꀤꋪꀸ internet:
- A lovely digital garden
- Everest Pipkin has a delightfully odd site with equally delightful projects that evoke the creativity of the early internet. More of the web should be like this...
- A look back at websites from the late 90's
Interesting Web Bits
- Walking through the amazing mechanical logic of an old pinball machine... 🤯
- A nice runthrough of the work done on the recent Vercel homepage redesign.
- It's pretty amazing what you can do with (almost) just CSS in 2024
- Sometimes you just need some background noise
