Low-Profile Keyboards and Vanilla Applications
Hey folks,
Last week of Christmas Crunch before Actual Christmas. This is always that weird trapped week where they'd show movies in school instead of actually doing work. Sad how that doesn't carry over past school...
Thinking Too Hard
I've resisted mechanical keyboards for awhile, but I think I'm finally ready to try some. I like these new low-profile keyboards, so it's down to:
I run a remote setup for about half the week from different locations so the low-profile is easier to just plop on a surface and still ensure good ergonomics if I don't have armrests that are the correct height. I also love the compact 65/75 formats, which is also great if you don't have a lot of space to spread out.
Interesting Web Bits
- Perhaps the best-named terminal interface tool... 🐀🧀
- Morris Brodersen built a complex application with vanilla HTML/CSS/JS as a case study attempting to find and stretch the limitations of vanilla web development. His conclusion is pretty interesting.
- Amelia Wattenberger explores infinite canvas ideas.
- Netlify published their State of Web Development report. Notable findings: Astro is the current darling, Next.js lost a little steam, and Tailwind continues to dominate.
