HTMX and Pixel Art
Hey Folks, Spoopy Season is here 👻 And according to some stores Christmas is here too... 🎄
... I cannot endorse this holiday melding of 'HalloThankMas' 🙅🙅
Thinking Too Hard
I've recently gotten a chance to work recently with a long-term maintenance project where we're adding HTMX for additional interactivity, and I have to say ... I really like it! I don't think HTMX is for every project but it's a refreshingly straightforward way to add functionality that doesn't feel like it's fighting or pivoting the grain of the web.
In other news, look at this gorgeous lighting demo from Jakub Wasilewski and the accompanying writeups. Pixel art is fascinating in it's limitations and the creativity people bring to it...
Interesting Web Bits
- The
<select>
element will soon support horizontal rules - Where did everyone go? That reflects my sentiments on social media but I'm firmly in the 'tired' camp. I'll just be right here, on my blog, for the foreseeable future.
- A nice collection of app interactions, hopefully this continues to be curated!
- I absolutely love this visual reimagining of dwarves
- Kevin Powell urges us to reconsider how we're using CSS variables
- I'm a big fan of these runtime animation libraries, they've released some nice sample Lottie icons
