Running into people, ChatGPT Health?, Beli #009
What did I do last week ?
Since this was my last week of vacation in India, I tried to visit all possible food joints which i used to visit regularly during my childhood. I also made sure to rate these places on Beli - a restaurant rating app which I have been obsessed with for over a year now. I came across this app randomly via a friend’s IG story and since then there has been no stopping. I have also been referred to as an unofficial ambassador for it by my friends (yeah that how highly speak about Beli).
A bit about research
Open AI launched ChatGPT Health in the last few days and I have been thinking of benchmarking it for a few medical informatics use cases. One thing I noticed across this launch and comments by people over it was that, everyone was a little concerned about GPT being used as a replacement for physician consultation. However, the official documentation says that it can only be used to summarize a consultation visit or blood reports. But there is a workaround of everything in terms of LLMs, so we can only hope for the best and hope that no one misuses LLM for any medical advice.
Interesting things this week
I am currently writing this newsletter at my layover at Frankfurt. As I was walking by my boarding gates, I ran into a high-school batch-mate of mine. It’s always great to run into people who you may have known and not been in touch with because of LIFE.
I am mentioning this here because there is something special about my high school batchmates. We all were a part of an integrated college back in India where we were preparing for the one of the toughest engineering exams, but not all of us were interested in it. So as you can guess, only a few students got into the elite engineering institutes and rest of us went to local universities for our undergraduate engineering programs.
As not everyone was interested in engineering. After two years of high school many folks had a realization what they truly wanted to do. Its been 9 years now to high school and my batch mates are working in domains like :
Aviation, Accounting, Music, two of my batch-mates became authors, travel influencers…
Now that we run into each other at different places all over the world and talk, we constantly think how we used to be scared about what we were going to do down the line. But in hindsight, everything turned out well for all of us.
