Meta Glasses with Display, Hosting Events and AMIA #006
What did I do last week ?
Last two weeks have been about hosting on campus events (pictures below) representing the GitHub Campus Experts program, working towards research and
A bit about research
I have been working towards concept goodness and LLMs being used for incremental ontology expansion in the past few weeks. Will be adding more information about this next week
I was also waiting for the CFP announcement of the AMIA 2026 Informatics Summit and here it is: https://amia.org/education-events/amplify-informatics-conference
If you are someone in the Medical Informatics Domain and would like to submit your work AMIA is an amazing place to showcase it. Also it will be held in Denver, Colorado. I’ve been wanting to visit Denver for a while now !!
Interesting things in tech this week
Meta launched a new variant of their Meta Glasses and it has a HUD (Heads Up Display), it looks really cool. As far as I heard creator reviews, it only works with Meta’s own application ecosystem for now and will be having an application marketplace (like PlayStore and Appstore) later some time. The glasses also come with a Neural Band which tracks hand/finger gestures to control the Interface. I think within a year or so, there will be other tech organizations producing smartglasses. Can’t wait for this area to flourish and see more options!!
You can read more about them at :

Amex Platinum added new benefits
My family friend Ashish and me have been following a few hacks to use our miles effectively in the past couple of years. We were also waiting for a refresh to the Platinum card and here it is. This refresh is looks pretty good as there are direct statement credits for a few services like Resy and Lululemon every quarter. There are also updates to the other credits like Uber One for a year and a limited edition Mirror Design (looks pretty cools). Heads up the mirror design is also a fingerprint magnet !!
