Great start to the India trip and Machine Learning for Babies !! #002
Machine Learning for Babies
As we all know Machine Learning has been the next big thing for the past few years, specially because of the launch of ChatGPT and other LLMs from various organizations.
I never found a good resource to learn Machine Learning and ended up skipping it. But I decided to face this fear of mine and opt for a Machine Learning course (well, I had to as it was mandatory - but lets consider "facing my fears” as a justification, because thats cooler HAHAH)
This course was one of the best ones I opted for in a while, not only because it taught me Machine Learning concepts but also removed my fear of those concepts being too complex. It happens when you get 2 awesome instructors teaching it.
I ended up learning the fundamentals and made a GitHub Repository of all the notes I made during the lectures. As I love open source projects, I thought why not make these notes open source too.
GitHub - narenkhatwani/machine-learning-for-babies: We are trying to simplify some Machine Learning concepts for folks new to this domain with some relatable examples

If anyone wants to collaborate with me for this small repository (Machine Learning for Babies), please feel free to write to me by replying to this newsletter (I reply to all my emails - VadaPav ki kasam).
The India Trip
As I mentioned in the last email, I am traveling to India to visit my family and friends.
Meeting someone important from my childhood
Every year when I visit home. I get to reconnect with a lot of people who I spent a lot of my time during childhood. This year in the first 2 days I actually got to meet Shekhar Uncle. Well he is a very important person as he used to drop me (and a lot of other kids) to school everyday from 1st grade (2007) till 10th grade (2017). I was passing by his house and remembered that I haven’t seen him in the past 6 years. Lets go and say Hi 🙋♂️ to him, turns out he didn’t recognize me for a good 30 seconds and was overjoyed when he finally remembered me.
I was really happy to see him after all these years. He was excited while mentioning how a lot of kids he used to drop to school have gone overseas and are studying there, some are working full time jobs back in India.
I had a 10 min conversation with him and in the end he said “Its always a happy moment whenever you kids come and visit, I just feel happy that I was a part of your childhood and you all still remember me” 😄
Food
One of the other main reasons to visit India is to hog good Indian Food. Vada Pav always tops the list and whats better than hopping in an auto rickshaw with your undergrad friend (Manas Mangaonkar) every year like clockwork and enjoy every bite of it.

Vada Pav was just the tip of the iceberg, what has been following in the next few days is …… well 😋

Heading back to enjoy some more food !!
