Worldly Napservations
Award tour
I invite you to join me this week for a journey around the globe, offering some of my favorite “worldly napservations,'' as I’ll call them, from Queens to Peru, Israel to Costa Rica. My reflections are inspired, in part, by a book I read some years ago by David Byrne, entitled Bicycle Diaries.

In his book, Byrne shares his observations and insights as he pedals through cities and villages around the globe. Thus, inspired by one of my favorite musicians and writers, throughout this week I’ll humbly share some of my favorite travel adventures through the lens of the nap.
For those who love to travel around the globe, you know that naps can really be an integral part of the journey. From flights and long bus rides, to quiet moments in far away cities or remote villages, the nap offers a bit of rest and respite from all the sights, sounds, languages and stimuli one might encounter during a full day of travel.
That is what I truly love and appreciate about the nap. For me, a person who loves to take in all the aspects of the incredible world around me, the nap, like Byrne on the bicycle, is a way to pause and reflect, realize all I’ve taken in and all I’ve offered on my journey.
Thanks for joining me, and I’ll see you tomorrow on this napping journey around the world.
