Could drive a people to forsake a napping icon?
So now you know why I was triggered. We waste an opportunity by naming beautiful mountains after Presidents like James Garfield.1 And we mix in the man who invented the light bulb with Joyce Kilmer?2
I’m just saying that when I go into a dark room at night, my first thought isn’t “I’m thankful for the League of Nations.”3 It’s “I’m really glad that we have a light bulb”. Most importantly, when I nap, I thank the man who gave the nap it’s glory — who led by example and showed, in the immortal words of Barry McBride, that the key to “maximum productivity” is to “Sleep when you need to and when you can.”
I think a man of TAE’s achievements and contributions deserves more than having a New Jersey rest stop named after him. I intend to write a strongly worded letter to just that effect to someone as soon as practical.

I am not denigrating anyone who has merited a rest stop. On current pace, I’d be lucky to have a port-o-potty named after me.
