Nap Aids (a.k.a. Sleeping PEDs) 1
Background music 1
One common question is whether we use background music to nap, and the answer is “yes.” There are three specific places I usually go to ease into a nap, and I wanted to share them here in case it helps anyone kick off a nice weekend nap today or tomorrow.
Calm app sleep remixes
Kacey Musgraves’ “Golden Hour” (SILO x Martin Wave Sleep Mix)
Prior to the Great 2020 Nap Revival, the forward thinkers at Calm released a series of sleep remixes of popular songs by artists including Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Katy Perry, and Kacey Musgraves. Kacey Musgraves’ fourth album, Golden Hour, has been on repeat for me to varying degrees since its release in 2018, so I was excited to check this one out. I use it almost every time I nap, as I love the combo of the song itself (sans drums) and the ethereal remix, including plenty of instrumental only sections.

Apple Music playlists
BEATstrumentals
This playlist contains regularly updated chill hip hop beats designed to be background music to work or relax. I use it to nap and actually prefer it to Apple’s Bedtime Beats playlist, which is more specifically geared towards going to sleep.
