Jimmy Buffett at Great Woods
When life gives you lemons…
We love Jimmy Buffett and aim to see him every summer, which we’ve more or less done since the late 1990s. Unfortunately, he’s ill and not doing much performing as he recovers — wishing him and those close to him a refuah shleimah.
Knowing that we most likely wouldn’t get to see him this summer, Evan decided to host some of the college gang and families for that one particular weekend we’d normally expect to see Jimmy at Great Woods.1 The weekend consisted of some beaching, some scooting, and some time at the Seagrape while we waited out the rain (I mean, what else were we supposed to do?), culminating in a BBQ at Evan’s house where he and I did our best Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally, respectively, to entertain our friends. A good time was had by all.
Amazing as always to spend time with the fellas and to get in some precious QT with the SLF, KLS, Rompy, the Eldest, HEF, Av, Al, and Robias, our new friends Brad and Jeff, and of course our furry friends, Marf and Knoxville, who caught a big fish. Bummed that Coxsackie and beach vacations meant some other friends and fam couldn’t make it, but as I envision this becoming an annual thing,2 as they say, next year in Fairfield.
And relevant to TND, while Hen and I gave it the college try on the beach under the sun tent, I found I was having way too much fun to take a nap — no regerts!
Not sure what they actually call it now, don’t really care — it’ll always be Burma to me.
Thanks in advance to the good rebbetzin!
