Everyone Loves Napping!
Notes from long time listener, first time caller
Now there’s two of them! Well, more it seems. How many people can write about naps before we all just fall asleep?
In Nap-adjacent news, even the great ones utilize the art of the quick snooze. NBC Sports noted that Mikaela Shiffrin, one of women skiing’s all-time great athletes, is a “good sleeper.” Apparently Mikaela is known to nod off to recharge, even while waiting to take a run. Paraphrasing from a recent broadcast, “People think that Mikaela might be meditating as she preps for a run, but really, she’s just really good about falling asleep and will take a 10 min power nap.” I had to investigate — it’s true! Mikaela admits to napping on the hill. I fully support outdoor winter napping.

When did I think about composing this post? While drifting off to nap, of course. For the first time in what felt like forever, an opportunity to nap without restriction presented itself this past weekend. It was glorious. No alarm. No worries. No thought of a power nap. Unabated afternoon slumber for the win. It was almost peak napping.
What could be missing? What’s left to reach the acme of nap euphoria? Come back next week to find out.
